WAVING CARPET!
E’ dal 19 settembre scorso che dal balcone del piano nobile di DART sventola l’opera ‘Polmone in fiore’ di Margherita Paoletti. Opera scelta e voluta da CRAC all’interno del progetto espositivo IOTUNOI, nonché immagine rappresentativa di un sentire comune al mondo della cultura e dell’arte, di quell’esigenza di proseguire con i palinsesti artistici, per lanciare segnali colti dal vissuto contemporaneo e offrire una visione positiva e diversa, facendo sapere che la ricerca artistica prosegue e CRAC c’è.
E’ da queste premesse che nasce WAVING CARPET!
COSA è WC? – E’ una call per artisti curata da CRAC – Centro Ricerca in Romagna Arte Contemporanea APS, in collaborazione con DART – Domus delle Arti, delle Relazioni e del Turismo e con il Comune di Conselice (RA).
Lo staff di CRAC si riserva di selezionare 10 opere tra quelle iscritte al concorso e successivamente le migliori 3 che saranno stampate su tela a cura dell’organizzazione per essere esposte dal balcone di Villa Verlicchi durante l’anno 2021; il calendario espositivo delle bandiere in esterno sarà deciso e comunicato successivamente, in relazione alla programmazione artistica annuale di CRAC.

Ma perché vola il tappeto? Ci viene insegnato che nella lingua araba classica una radice comune lega tappeto e farfalla e certo non soltanto per la fascinazione dei colori. Il tessere e l’ annodare alludono di per sé alle vicende ordite per gli uomini da invisibili mani. E si sa come il vocabolo greco che indica l’ attimo senza ritorno, da cogliere come un fiore miracoloso kairos sia usato per definire un altro indefinibile: la momentanea, lampeggiante fessura tra l’ ordito e la trama in cui la spola penetra fulmineamente, come la lama mortale tra i due pezzi di un’ armatura.
Si allude a una ricomposizione spirituale dell’ Eden, anzi addirittura di un mondo precedente all’ Eden, dove la pietra e la stella, la rosa e il cristallo, la fonte e lo spino, l’ animale feroce e il delicato si apparentano in una dimensione che le racchiude tutte, e si direbbe che la quarta non sia la definitiva. Che il tappeto orientale voglia offrire uno specchio della divina freschezza di un mondo senza colpa ce lo dicono, d’ altra parte, i quattro fiumi paradisiaci che nascono talvolta dalla nicchia d’ orazione: così essi sgorgano nei mosaici cristiani, mutati nelle fonti cristalline dei Vangeli, dalla roccia su cui si erge l’ Agnello, o traversano tragicamente il manto cosmico del vescovo bizantino. Siano comunque edeniche o precedenti all’Eden queste terre trasfigurate, queste terre in visione, non vi perviene per gradi quell’intrepido viaggiatore, colui che si raccoglie in orazione sul tappeto? Qui si trova il sentiero che conduce alla sorgente di vita…. E’ ragionevole che le meditazioni di tali uomini si concludano qualche volta in levitazioni, in quei voli nei quali il corpo sembra scoccare dall’arco teso della mente rapita.
il tappeto vola perché è terra spirituale, i disegni del tappeto annunciano quella terra, ritrovata nel volo spirituale.
CHI – Possono partecipare tutti, purché maggiorenni, artisti singoli o collettivi da tutto il mondo.

What is WC?
It is a call for artists curated by CRAC – Contemporary Art Research Center in Romagna aps, in collaboration with DART – Multipurpose Cultural Center and with the Municipality of Conselice in Emilia-Romagna, Italy.
Since last September 19th, the work ‘Polmone in fiore’ by Margherita Paoletti has been flying from the balcony of the main floor of DART. Work chosen and desired by CRAC within the IOTUNOI exhibition project, as well as a representative image of a common feeling in the world of culture and art, of that need to continue with the artistic schedules, to launch signals captured by contemporary and offer a positive and different vision, making it known that artistic research continues and CRAC is there.
It is from these premises that WAVING CARPET
The CRAC staff reserves the right to select 10 works from those entered in the competition and then the best 3 that will be printed on canvas, width 150-200 cm., height 200-280 cm., by the organization to be exhibited from the balcony of Villa Verlicchi during the year 2021; the exhibition calendar of the outdoor flags will be decided and communicated later, in relation to the annual artistic program of CRAC.
Anyone can participate, as long as they are of age, single or collective artists from all over the world.

But why does the carpet fly? We are taught that in the classical Arabic language a common root links carpet and butterfly and certainly not only for the fascination of colors. Weaving and knotting in themselves allude to the events plotted for men by invisible hands. And we know how the Greek word that indicates the moment of no return, to be grasped as a miraculous flower kairos, is used to define another indefinable: the momentary, flashing crack between the warp and the weft into which the shuttle penetrates lightly, as the deadly blade between the two pieces of an armor.
It alludes to a spiritual recomposition of Eden, indeed even of a world prior to Eden, where the stone and the star, the rose and the crystal, the spring and the thorn, the fierce animal and the delicate are related in one dimension that encompasses them all, and it would seem that the fourth is not the definitive one. That the oriental carpet wants to offer a mirror of the divine freshness of a world without guilt, we are told, on the other hand, by the four paradisiacal rivers that sometimes arise from the niche of prayer: thus they flow in Christian mosaics, transformed into the crystalline sources Gospels, from the rock on which the Lamb stands, or tragically cross the cosmic mantle of the Byzantine bishop. However, these transfigured lands, these lands in vision, are these transfigured lands, these lands in vision, edenical or prior to Eden, does not that intrepid traveler arrive there gradually, the one who gathers himself in prayer on the carpet? Here is the path that leads to the source of life …. It is reasonable that the meditations of such men sometimes end in levitations, in those flights in which the body seems to spring from the taut arc of the rapt mind.
The carpet flies because it is spiritual land, the designs of the carpet announce that land, found in the spiritual flight.
